Nis Airport (INI) has been considered a gateway from the east and west since ancient times. The city of Nis has a lot to offer tourists, especially those that love history. There are several historical sites that are quite popular to visit including one of the preserved Nazi Concentration Camps, Crveni Krst, which is not for the faint hearted. In addition, there is the Memorial Chapel built in 1999 to honour NATO bombing victims. Other historical places to visit in the city include Nis Fortress, Cegar, and several fortress cafes that are great for tourists. These sites make the city of Nis, Serbia a wonderful place to visit. Nis Airport does not have any other alternative airports within a reasonable distance.
