The Andalucían city of Granada is located in the southern part of Spain at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Granada is notably popular with tourists for the skiing and hiking the Sierra Nevada mountains afford, but also Granada features La Alhambra- a palace, fortress, and gardens complex, the 16th century La Catedral de Granada, and a number of churches and historical sights that date back to the 14th century. Granada Airport (GRX) flights arrive roughly 15 kilometres to the west of Granada between the towns of Chauchina and Santa Fe. Low cost Malaga Airport flights (AGP) also service the region but fly eight kilometres southwest of the city of Malaga, 93 kilometres from Granada.
