Bydgoszcz is not a well known holiday destination. However, with an airport that is currently in development, it is one that will soon handle plenty of flights. As a current alternative make sure you look at low cost flights to Poznan Airport (POZ) also known as Poznań-Ławica Henryk Wieniawski Airport. However, at 167 kilometres away from Bydgoszcz Airport (BZG) this may not be the best alternative. The local area is full of history, mostly to do with music. The Ignacy Paderewski's Concert Hall is one of the concert halls that regularly receives praise as being one of the best in Europe because of its acoustic qualities. There are plenty of festivals held in the local area, including; the Alternative music festival Low Fi and the Smooth Festival Złote Przeboje Bydgoszcz.
