While Samara may be one of the biggest cities in Russia, its population of just under one and a half million suggests otherwise. Sitting on Volga the largest European river the area only sits on 0.3% of the Russian land. Samara is one of the ‘richer’ cities. In fact, due to oil money, a lot of the city looks amazing. The downside of this is the night-life is rather expensive. There are plenty of night-clubs in the local area, but the only problem with them is that they are pricy. In fact, you should expect to pay more than what you would in both Barcelona and London for both entry and drinks. Samara is becoming much more popular, but Kurumoch (KUF), Samara’s local airport, is the only airport servicing this region. If you are looking for flights you need to make the best of the ones on offer to this airport.
