As the oldest existent city in one of the most historic countries in the world (founded in 600 BC) this city is located on the coast. The city has a wonderful Old Town centre, something that has to be experienced, even the grand casino, which is housed in a stunning building in the city. Due to the increase in tourists to the area, the city has adapted somewhat. This means that there are plenty of open-air restaurants, nightclubs and regional entertainment to suit. Flights to Constanta Airport (CND) are almost the only way to get into the region. The closest major international airport is well over 200 kilometres away in Bulgaria so the sole chance of low cost travel into the area comes through Constanta Airport.
