Bmibaby Waves Goodbye to Low-Cost Flights

The 9th September 2012 saw the last bmibaby flight to take to the skies which left Malaga for East Midlands airport where it arrived at 10.45pm. BMI regional are still operating as normal but the low-cost airline carrier, bmibaby, is no more.

Bmibaby was based in the UK and flew throughout the UK and across Europe with an emphasis on providing for business travellers, the option of reducing the cost of flights by opting to pay for specific services, or not. Executive lounges and online check-in are both examples of how a flyer could reduce their flight cost by either opting in or out of according to the reduction offered.

Shortly after the launch of bmibaby, it became the UK’s third-largest carrier flying to such attractive places as Rome, Prague, Alicante and Barcelona. Bmibaby, founded in 2002, had a fleet of 14 Boeing aircrafts serving 42 destinations including a wide range of international European flights to most popular destinations. Bmibaby also managed to forge special relationships with related services such as car hire companies, hotels and airport transport, all which were used to pass on discounts to their lucky customers.
