Based in the Italian city of Fiumicino, Blu-Express is a low-cost carrier that operates on a few domestic and international routes. Established in 2005, this airline operates under the slogan "Pay less; Fly Blu." It is actually a branch of Blue Panorama Airlines, which is not only one of the largest airlines in Italy but in Europe as well.
As of 2011, the Blu-express fleet consisted of 5 Boeing airplanes (models 737-300 and 737-400), some of which were shared with the parent company (Blue Panorama Airlines). Likewise, its destinations (which were seven, by then) generally coincide with those offered by Blue Panorama. The difference between both companies is the service itself, which with Blu-express is stripped down of all superfluous perks, as to afford passengers the lowest possible cost.
Most of the destinations served by Blu-express are domestic, but a few international routes are available as well, connecting cities such as Granada-Rome, Ibiza-Catania and Nice-Rome. Summer flights are usually available from April to October at even lower cost compared to the other times of the year.
blu express operates flights to and from a wide selection of airports across Europe. Of all of the airports that blu express serves, the following are some of the most popular:
