Iceland Express was a modest low-cost airline which operated from Reykjavik in Iceland. On 24 October 2012, WOW air acquired Iceland Express' operations and network.
Iceland Express was founded in 2002, and by 2011 it was serving a total of seventeen destinations with a fleet of five Boeing air crafts (featuring models as diverse as the 737-300, 737-500, 737-700 and 757-200). At the same time, its served destinations mostly on European countries such as Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands and a few others, as well as a few domestic flights. Additionally, it was offering long-haul flights to the USA (Boston, Chicago and Newark) and Canada (Winnipeg), which were soon to be expanded to include a few other transatlantic destinations.
