Based in Bucharest (Romania), Blue Air is a low-cost carrier with operations focused on the Aurel Vlaicu International Airport. Its operations started late in 2004; at the time it was the most inexpensive Romanian air carrier, until international competitors started establishing routes to the country. It has codeshare agreements with Blue Panorama Airlines and Georgian Airways.
Around 2011, Blue Air operated a fleet of eight Boeing aircrafts with average age of twenty years; including models 737-300, 737-400, 737-500, soon to be replaced with newer models such as the 737-800 and 737-900ER.
Blue air offers a frequent flyer program called "myBlue", as well as a versatile service that includes travel insurance, Online Check-in, and special rates for business flights. Check-in service begins three hours before the appointed time for each flight.
